EXAMINING THE NEED FOR STANDARDIZATION IN PANCHAKARMA: A CRITICAL REVIEW

Panchakarma treatments fall within the category of purifying treatments known in Ayurveda as shodana therapy (purification). The peculiarity of Panchakarma at this time is that, for patients with the same disease and baseline characteristics, the same Panchakarma technique yields varying percentages of efficacy rate depending on the locale. Standardization of these Panchakarma treatments became an urgent necessity in order to guarantee consistency of the operations and achieve optimum efficacy. Goal: This article's main goal is to investigate the field of study on Panchakarma procedure standardization and to ensure that these procedures are followed globally in order to provide the highest level of safety and consistency. Examine Findings: To guarantee total safety and optimal effectiveness, the Panchakarma procedure standardization technique must be put into practice on an emergency basis.
